Investments

Building a portfolio is the straightforward part. Keeping it aligned with your goals as markets and your circumstances change is the work — and it is where most of our time goes.

What we advise on

  • Stocks and shares ISAs, and making use of your annual allowance
  • OEICs and unit trusts
  • Investment bonds, onshore and offshore
  • Portfolio construction and ongoing management
  • Consolidating and reviewing investments held elsewhere

How we build a portfolio

Before recommending anything we need to understand three things: what the money is for, when you are likely to need it, and how much fluctuation in its value you are genuinely comfortable with. Those answers shape the portfolio far more than any view about markets.

From there we search the whole market. We are not tied to any bank, insurer or fund house, so the recommendation reflects your circumstances rather than a limited product range.

Reviewed four times a year

Most advisers review annually. We review every client's portfolio quarterly, because markets move, funds change managers and personal circumstances shift. Where a change is warranted we will recommend it and explain why; where nothing needs doing, we will tell you that too.

What it costs

The initial consultation is free and carries no obligation. If you decide to proceed, we set out our charges clearly and in writing before any work begins.

The value of investments and the income from them can fall as well as rise, and you may not get back the full amount invested. Past performance is not a reliable indicator of future results. This page is general information, not personal advice.
