Privacy Policy

How we look after the personal information you give us through this website.

Who we are

This website is run by Independent Financial Planning (Anglia) Ltd, registered in England and Wales and authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA reference number 429592). We are the “data controller” for the personal information described in this policy, which means we decide how and why it is used.

Our address is 7 Chase Avenue, Walton Park, Milton Keynes, MK7 7HG. You can contact us about anything in this policy at Ifp.anglia@gmail.com or on 01908 554030.

This policy covers visitors to this website and people who contact us through it. If you become a client, we will give you a separate notice explaining how we use the more detailed information needed to provide advice.

What information we collect

We only collect personal information that you choose to give us, plus a small amount of technical data that every website receives.

Anything you tell us by phone or emailYou contact us directly

Please do not include sensitive details, such as bank or card numbers, passwords or health information, in the enquiry form. We will ask for anything we need at the appropriate stage, and through an appropriate channel.

How we use it, and why we are allowed to

  • To reply to your enquiry and arrange a conversation. This is in your interests and ours, and is a step you have asked us to take before any agreement is made. The legal bases are legitimate interests and, where relevant, taking steps at your request before entering into a contract.
  • To keep our website secure and prevent spam. The form includes a hidden field that automated bots fill in, and the hosting provider filters spam submissions. The legal basis is legitimate interests in keeping our systems safe.
  • To meet our legal and regulatory duties. If an enquiry leads to advice, we are required by the FCA and other law to keep certain records. The legal basis is legal obligation.

We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for automated decision-making or profiling. We will not send you marketing emails unless you have asked us to.

Who we share it with

We use a small number of service providers who process information on our behalf. They may only use it to provide their service to us.

  • Netlify, Inc. hosts this website and processes the enquiry form. When you submit the form, your details are stored in our Netlify account and an email notification is sent to us. Netlify also records technical information, including IP addresses, in server logs. Netlify is based in the United States.
  • Google (Gmail) provides the email account that receives enquiries, so your enquiry, and our reply, pass through Google’s systems.
  • Google Fonts supplies the typefaces used on this site. When a page loads, your browser requests the fonts directly from Google, which means Google receives your IP address and browser details.

We may also disclose information where the law requires it, for example to the FCA, a court or law enforcement, or to our professional advisers where needed.

Transfers outside the UK

Netlify and Google may process information in the United States and other countries. Where that happens, the transfer relies on the UK–US data bridge or on the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or Addendum to the EU standard contractual clauses, which provide equivalent protection to UK law.

Cookies

This website does not set cookies, and it does not use analytics, advertising or tracking tools. Because of that, there is no cookie banner. If that changes, we will update this policy and ask for your consent first where the law requires it.

Links to other sites

This site links to external services including our LinkedIn profile, our Google reviews and the FCA Register. Those sites have their own privacy policies and cookies, which we do not control. Please read them before giving those sites any information.

How long we keep it

  • Enquiries that do not lead to us working together: up to 12 months, after which they are deleted.
  • If you become a client: your enquiry becomes part of your client file, which we must keep for the periods required by FCA rules and other law. Those periods can be many years, and some records must be kept indefinitely. Our client privacy notice gives the details.
  • Hosting logs: kept by Netlify for a short period under its own retention settings.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to:

  • ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
  • ask us to correct anything that is wrong or incomplete;
  • ask us to delete your information, where we have no good reason to keep it;
  • ask us to restrict how we use it, or object to us using it on the basis of legitimate interests;
  • ask for the information you gave us in a portable format.

To use any of these rights, email or call us using the details above. We will normally reply within one month, and we do not charge for this. We may need to confirm your identity first.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we use personal information, we will update this page and the date below.
